Eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE) is a rare gastrointestinal disease characterized by generalized abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding and weight loss. The etiology pathogenesis are not well understood mostly based on case reports. Clinical presentation may vary depending sites depth of involvement the tract. diagnosis usually confirmed histology that shows eosinophilic infiltration absence secondary cause eosinophilia.The authors present report 47-year-old woman was diagnosed with dyslipidemia, obesity allergic rhinitis. She had no significant family history. admitted in internal medicine department 2 weeks diarrhea loss (> 10%). Further study revealed increased eosinophil count, normocytic anemia, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate normal Ig E levels. Digestive endoscopic performed, multiple biopsy specimens showed moderate stomach duodenal mucosa.The patient started prednisolone, clinical improvement. Follow-up go twenty years after beginning this treatment stabilization symptoms laboratory tests.So, three criteria - presence symptoms, histologic evidence exclusion other causes tissue eosinophilia. severity symptoms. Corticosteroids mainstay therapy, so usual dose prednisolone/prednisone 20-40 mg daily for two tapering thereafter. In literature, use montelukast biologic agents have been reported.
